Sanchez, 28, will have just six months remaining on his current Arsenal contract when the winter window opens.

The Chile international has refused to sign fresh terms at the Emirates and will be free to talk to rival clubs in January.

He was on the verge of signing for Manchester City in the summer, but a move fell through at the last minute after Arsene Wenger failed to land a replacement in time.

City are expected to reignite their interest in in January, but will apparently offer nowhere near the £60million they put on the table on deadline day.

But they will face competition from , who have also been heavily linked with a move for the former Barcelona man.

The Ligue 1 side were apparently working on a deal to sign him in the summer, but instead opted to sign Kylian Mbappe to play alongside world-record signing Neymar.

However, French outlet Le Parisien claim they are ready to come back in for him and negotiate a pre-contract agreement with a view to signing him on a free transfer in the summer.

It is also said Sanchez’s potential switch could lead to Edinson Cavani’s departure.

Cavani had a rift with Neymar last month over who should take set pieces.

The pair have since resolved the issue, but Sanchez’s arrival will allow them to recoup some of the funds from the near £400million they spent on Neymar and Mbappe by selling Cavani.

His departure will also help balance the books with Financial Fair Play regulations.

Cavani will be 31 in February and has bagged 11 goals in all competitions for PSG so far this season.
