Liverpool striker Danny Ings steps up recovery after injury

Ings, 25, has endured an injury plagued career at Liverpool so far - making just six appearances since signing from Burnley in 2015.

He returned to first-team action for the first time in 11 months since his knee injury in September when he came on as a substitute in the 2-0 EFL Cup defeat to Leicester.

But he appears to be way down the pecking order in Jurgen Klopp’s plans with his injuries understandably curtailing his progress.

However, ESPN claim are ready to offer him regular minutes and are keen to swoop for the striker when the transfer window reopens in January.

It is said he could hold the key to their potential Premier League return due to his prolific Championship record.

Ings scored 21 goals in 40 appearances when he last played in the second tier as he helped guide the Clarets to promotion in the 2013-14 season.

And ESPN say Leeds are hoping he can rediscover this form should they secure his signature in the winter window.

Up next for the Whites is a clash with Reading at Elland Road on October 14 (3pm).
