Philippe Coutinho celebrates his goal against Newcastle

Coutinho scored for the third consecutive game with a stunning strike from outside the area against Newcastle.

The Brazilian has looked back to his best since his reintegration into the team following his failed move to Barcelona.

Coutinho had a transfer request rejected and Liverpool turned down three bids from the Catalans.

But speaking after the 1-1 draw with the Magpies, Henderson hailed Coutinho and claimed the whole Liverpool squad are delighted to still have him.

He said: ”Philippe (Coutinho) was brilliant again today.

"He deserved his goal. He is a great person, a fantastic player for this team.

"We all love him. A lot of things happen in football. Phil has been brilliant.

"He has put his frustration into games and is playing with freedom. He has been fantastic."

Liverpool’s stalemate with Magpies means they have just one win in their last seven matches.

And Henderson admitted there was an air of frustration about the chances being missed.

He added: ”It feels like we are saying same thing. We do so many good things but come away frustrated. It is a strange feeling. We created good chances to win the game and were comfortable but overall we are frustrated.

"We have to keep going, keep creating and they will turn into goals. Saying that, we did keep going. I feel once we get one they will all start going in.”
