Alvaro Morata injury

Chelsea’s big summer signing has had an impressive introduction to Premier League with seven goals in his first eight games.

But he now looks set for a spell on the sidelines after appearing to suffer a hamstring injury in the first half.

An enforced absence will be a big blow to Chelsea and Antonio Conte.

Defensive Antonio Conte

With five defenders and two holding midfielders, Conte’s tactics were evident from the outset.

But even Chelsea fans will have been disappointed at how their side was dominated for much of the game.

Chelsea were pragmatic and disciplined to counter City’s threat.

After Morata went off Eden Hazard was an isolated figure in attack.

Super Kevin De Bruyne

It had been coming and the goal from De Bruyne was well worth the wait.

The Belgian is arguably the most creative player in the league but he took it upon himself to break the deadlock with a stunning finish past his international team-mate Thibaut Courtois.

In every match, De Bruyne exposes Chelsea’s woeful decision to sell him in 2014.

Impressive Manchester City

Man City have been the great entertainers this season despite the big game occasion, they never took a backward step.

At times City made Chelsea poor extremely average.

Even at this stage of the season, City look a class above the Blues and almost everyone else.

Woeful Willian

Brazillian Willian came on for Chelsea as a replacement for the injured Morata.

But he had no effect on the match and the home fans made their feelings felt.

In truth, he was fortunate to be substituted off by Conte in the second half as Chelsea chased a goal.
