Antonio Conte: Chelsea boss says Michy Batshuayi will play more after Carabao Cup heroics

CHELSEA boss Antonio Conte says Michy Batshuayi will receive more game time after his Carabao Cup heroics in midweek.

Chelsea's Batshuayi scores INCREDIBLE goal during training

Chelsea signed Batshuayi from Ligue 1 giants Marseille last summer, with the forward playing second fiddle to Diego Costa as the Blues won the title.

However, the Belgium international already looks in finer form this season.

Batshuayi scored a hat-trick as Chelsea dismantled Nottingham Forest 5-1 in the Carabao Cup.

And, though Conte has decided to make Alvaro Morata the spearhead of his attack this season, the Italian says Batshuayi is in line for more game time.

"He is one of the players in our squad," he said.

"Last season he didn’t play a lot.

"After one year I think he has worked very hard last season to be able to face this league and work with Chelsea. He will have the right chance."

Conte also praised the importance of the Carabao Cup, saying it gives him a chance to rotate.

"We must know to play four competitions is not easy," he added.

"Then sometimes when you ask if the players are happy if they don’t play?

Antonio Conte: Chelsea boss has promised for minutes for Michy Batshuayi

"You have to find the right balance to give the right opportunity and balance in every competition, when this happens the most important thing is the answer from the players must be positive.

"It is normal in the first round to have the rotation. It is not easy and you have to give an opportunity to some players to play.

"Every competition is important, I don’t think one team thinks it is better to lose one game.

"We want to win and go through in this competition. It is normal sometimes you pay something in this competition when you have big rotation."
