Man Utd News: Rashford and Martial long way off Rooney and Ronaldo - Saha

Both Martial and Rashford burst onto the scene for Manchester United in the 2015/16 campaign and have scored a combined 48 goals since.

Martial joined the Red Devils from Monaco for an initial £36million in the summer of 2015, while Rashford rose through the United academy.

Saha is expecting big things from the Old Trafford duo, but believes they are miles behind United legends Rooney and Ronaldo.

The former United striker worked with Rooney and Ronaldo at United for four years, winning two Premier League titles, the League Cup and the Champions League together.

“They are hugely talented players – for sure,” Saha told The Metro when asked about Martial and Rashford.

“If you ask me honestly then they have a long way to go to catch players like Rooney and Ronaldo.

“Cristiano is an animal, I’ve never seen anyone like him.

“They (Rashford and Martial) need to work twice as hard. You need to combine talent with working harder than anyone else. Nobody worked harder than Wazza on the field.

“Those two players (Rooney and Ronaldo) maintained that quality because they worked hard every single season.

“I want to see that with Martial. The talent he has is amazing but he needs to work harder.”
