Barcelona Transfer News: Liverpool star Coutinho to arrive in coming days, Di Maria close

BARCELONA are confident of signing Philippe Coutinho and Angel Di Maria before the end of the transfer window, reports say.

Mark Lawrenson: Philippe Coutinho is a problem for Klopp

Barcelona are attempting to wear Liverpool down in an effort to lure Coutinho to the Nou Camp.

Paris Saint-Germain star Di Maria, meanwhile, is another player on their radar.

And Spanish outlet Don Balon claim deals for both players are edging closer with less than a week of the window remaining.

Liverpool have repeatedly insisted Coutinho is not for sale and have so far rejected three bids for the Brazilian.

Yet a deal seems to be in the offing regardless with Don Balon saying its completion is just days away.

That largely reflects the confidence from much of the Spanish media who claim it is a matter of when, not if, Coutinho signs.

Di Maria also looks likely to make the move to Catalonia.

PSG are looking to balance the books following their huge £200million deal for Neymar last month.

The former Manchester United star, as well as Julian Draxler, look likely to be the fall guys.

And Barcelona are in pole position to sign the Argentine despite already shelling out for Borussia Dortmund’s Ousmane Dembele.

Barcelona Transfer News: La Liga side are also set to sign Angel Di Maria

The La Liga side clocked up a key 2-0 win over Deportivo Alaves yesterday, with Lionel Messi scoring both goals.

And, speaking after the game, manager Ernesto Valverde admitted he was hoping for more signings.

"We hope to have a better team on the 31st," he told Barca TV.

"We hope that, when the last day of the market comes, we have a better and more competitive team. That's clear."
