Liverpool want to sign Renato Sanches as a replacement for Philippe Coutinho

Liverpool are desperate to keep Coutinho but will react swiftly if Barcelona get their man.

The Reds wanted to sign Naby Keita earlier this summer, having already landed Mohamed Salah.

And they are now discussing a deal with Bayern over Sanches.

That is according to Spanish newspaper Sport, who claim Sanches’ availability has attracted Jurgen Klopp’s eye.

Sanches only joined Bayern last summer after snubbing the chance to move to the Premier League.

However, his debut season in Germany did not go well, with Bayern boss Carlo Ancelotti phasing him out of the side.

A loan move abroad appears the best option for all parties, with Bayern keen to keep 20-year-old Sanches in case he develops into a top player.

Sport claim Sanches requested not to be considered for selection for the clash with Werder Bremen this weekend in order to boost his chances of securing a move abroad.
