Steven Gerrard made his managerial debut in charge of Liverpool U18s against Derby
Gerrard returned to Anfield last season to take up a coaching role in the Liverpool academy, and has now taken charge of the U18s side with a view to developing his managerial skills.
The Liverpool legend got off to a reasonable start yesterday with a 1-1 draw at the Derby County Academy as Jack Stretton cancelled out Reds youngster Liam Coyne’s opener.
Liverpool had a goal ruled out for offside early on while the Rams were denied from the penalty spot by Dan Atherton in an entertaining clash.
Gerrard was animated throughout and looks right at home barking orders from the touchline.
