Chelsea and Manchester United are in talks over a move for Nemanja Matic

Manchester United want to sign Matic and have reportedly agreed personal terms for the midfielder.

Chelsea are willing to offload the Serbian, having signed Tiemoue Bakayoko as a replacement for the two-time title winner this summer.

But the Sun on Sunday claim negotiations between United and Chelsea are not running smoothly.

According to the report, a general figure of £50million has been agreed for the player.

However, how that fee is paid has led to problems.

Chelsea want United to agree to extra payments based on games the 28-year-old plays and results.

The Blues have already rejected an earlier offer of £35m from United for their midfielder.

They are aware how keen Jose Mourinho is to sign his former player and have therefore bumped up his price.

United are also gunning to sign Ivan Perisic from Inter Milan, although the Italian giants are standing firm on their £48m valuation of the winger.

Matic’s arrival will also likely lead to the departure of Marouane Fellaini, who is set to join Galatasaray.
