Erick Thohir says Ivan Perisic's Inter Milan future remains uncertain
Manchester United want to sign Perisic but are yet to meet Inter’s asking price.
The Serie A club want £48million for their star man, who has joined them on their pre-season tour of the Far East.
United manager Jose Mourinho is keen to add a winger and a midfielder to his squad before the start of the season.
And Thohir conceded in a press conference at Inter’s training camp that Perisic’s future is uncertain.
“The Croat is still our player,” Thohir said defiantly.
“He plays and trains with us.
“But we don’t know the next step.”
United’s initial bid for Perisic was thought to be around £26m and came before the transfer window officially opened at the start of this month.
The Red Devils have spent £100m on two players - Victor Lindelof and Romelu Lukaku - this summer and are on the lookout for more additions.

As for Inter, Thohir is set to step down as president of the club following the major sale to a Chinese company Suning Holdings Group.
Inter’s rivals Milan have also been taken over by Chinese investors and they have funded a spending spree worth over £100m this summer.
Yet Inter have remained quiet in the transfer window, which has drawn the ire of some fans.
Asked why big stars haven’t arrived this summer, Thohir said: “Because they’re already in the team! We already have so many. We’re ready to work, but it depends on what Luciano Spalletti wants.
“We’ve taken Milan Skriniar and sold Marco Andreolli, sold Ever Banega and brought Borja Valero.
“To balance the team, first we have to sell players and then buy others.”
