Manchester United are said to be keen on landing Vidal, who has struggled to make an impact at Bayern.

Yesterday Bayern boss Carlo Ancelotti insisted the midfielder was staying at the club this summer.

"Vidal is our player, I have a lot of confidence," he said.

"I know there are rumours and we're used to rumours. He'll stay with us 100 percent - I'm confident about that."

But Italian outlet Calciomercato claim the Chile international’s future is far from certain.

They claim Inter will not take no for an answer in their pursuit of the 30-year-old.

Manager Luciano Spalletti already seems set to miss out on Roma’s Radja Nainggolan, with Vidal his next option.

Inter are supposedly willing to offer Vidal a £120,000-a-week contract to come to the San Siro.

United would be able to match that figure and manager Jose Mourinho has cash to spend in the transfer market.

The Red Devils are themselves eyeing a move for Inter playmaker Ivan Perisic.

Spalletti has conceded Perisic could be sold but Inter want £48million for the Croatia international - a figure United are yet to meet.

Calciomercato add that a deal for Vidal could involve an initial loan move, after which a £40m permanent deal would be available.
