Jenkinson is said to be surplus to requirements at Arsenal this summer.

The 25-year-old made just five appearances last season after recovering from a long-term knee injury in October, having spent the previous two campaigns out on loan.

He was heavily linked with a move to Crystal Palace in January but they failed to meet Arsenal's valuation.

But he could be on the move this summer, with the Daily Mail claiming Premier League duo Swansea and Brighton are interested in the one-capped England international.

Newcastle manager Rafa Benitez was said to be keen on signing Jenkinson - but the Magpies have since cooled their interest after last week's arrival of Javier Manquillo.

Jenkinson reportedly wants to leave the Gunners this summer for regular game time, with both Hector Bellerin and Mathieu Debuchy ahead of him in the pecking order.

And the former Charlton youngster will have the choice between Swansea and newly-promoted Brighton should he wish to remain in England's top flight next term.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger today confirmed Arsenal are in talks with clubs over the sale of a number of players.

When asked about the possibility of squad players moving on this summer, Wenger replied: "There are talks, yes. There is contact but we are not close."

Jenkinson signed for Arsenal in 2011 and has gone on to make 62 appearances for Wenger's side, winning the 2013/14 FA Cup in the process.
