The United boss looked furious on the sidelines during the first half as he witnessed two avoidable errors lead to City going 2-0 up.

Kevin de Bruyne and Kelechi Iheanacho gave the visitors a well deserved lead but Zlatan Ibrahimovic handed United hope before the break.

Mourinho felt his side improved dramatically in the second half but was bitterly disappointed to walk away with nothing.

“I think the first half they were much better. We started to win back. We started the game with players below the normal level," Mourinho told Sky Sports.

“We need to be sharp the way we think, the way we play.

“We had a few players below that level and we were made to pay.
