Joe Allen - Quickfire Questions.mp4

Joe Allen has emerged as a shock target for Manchester United, according to reports.

Jose Mourinho is understood to be keen to bring in another midfielder and according to the South Wales Evening Post, the Welshman is on his wishlist.

The report claims the Red Devils are weighing up a move for Allen but face competition from Swansea.

Allen has one year left to run on his current contract and he is yet to discuss a new deal.

Jurgen Klopp is thought to be willing to listen to offers and could sell him if United come in with a respectable offer.

Antonio Conte has ended speculation over Juan Cuadrado’s future.

The winger spent last season on loan at Juventus after failing to hit the ground running under Mourinho.

Juventus had been linked with trying to make his move permanent, but Conte insists he is part of his plans in west London.

"Juan Cuadrado is a Chelsea player," Conte said. "He will come back very soon. He’s in our squad, I’m very happy to have him and train him.

"I wanted him when I was a coach at Juventus and he will come back very soon and train and play with us.

“Now, he’s a Chelsea player and he’ll stay with us. If something changes you’ll know."

Arsenal have been dealt a blow in their pursuit of Kostas Manolas.

The Gunners have shown interest in the Roma star in recent months as Arsene Wenger looks to bolster his defence.

But Roma’s club president James Palotta has warned Arsenal he won’t be going anywhere.

He said: “Why on earth should Manolas leave?

“[New signing] Juan Jesus and [potential signing] Nacho are two experienced defenders who are going to help us.

“The team is working very hard for the Champions League play off stage.”
