Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has provided an update on Shkodran Mustafi as he looks set to miss the Europa League game against BATE Borisov through injury.
The Gunners defender went off in the defeat against Manchester United at the weekend, but Wenger says he should be able to return in time for the weekend trip to Southampton.
Mustafi has had mixed fortunes for Arsenal this season, recently putting in some strong displays in wins over Tottenham, Burnley and Huddersfield Town.
However, the Germany international then had a bit of a shocker against United, who raced into a 2-0 lead inside the opening 11 minutes on their way to a 3-1 victory at the Emirates Stadium.

Still, Wenger would surely hope to have him back soon due to a lack of other real options in that area, though it’s perhaps unlikely he’d have played in the Europa League anyway.
‘Everybody is available. There is a small problem with Mustafi from Saturday but everybody else looks alright,’ Wenger is quoted in the Metro.
‘He’s got a little thigh problem, but it’s a small one. He could be available for Southampton.’
