Real Madrid ready to sell £177million Manchester United transfer target to sign Chelsea star

Manchester United could be in luck as reports claim Real Madrid are prepared to ‘sacrifice’ rumoured Red Devils target Marco Asensio in order to seal the transfer of Chelsea forward Eden Hazard.

According to Don Balon, Hazard is one of Zinedine Zidane’s main targets as the club embark on a rebuilding project for next summer, with Paulo Dybala, Harry Kane, Aymeric Laporte and either one of David de Gea or Thibaut Courtois.

Despite being one of the most exciting prospects in Europe at the moment, the report claims Asensio could be a player to make way if it helps Real bring in Hazard.

Don Balon have previously claimed United made a £177million bid for Asensio, who shone on his breakthrough into Zidane’s first-team last season.

The 21-year-old has a sublime left foot and already has a fine collection of wonder-goals to his name in his relatively short time in Madrid’s senior side.

United could certainly do with that kind of talent in their ranks, and may want to take note that Asensio could soon become available.

In a double boost for Jose Mourinho, it could also mean that Real end up raiding one of their main title rivals Chelsea for one of their most influential players in Hazard.

The Belgium international has lit up the Premier League since he joined Chelsea from Lille back in 2012, and certainly fits the bill as a ‘Galactico’ buy for Real Madrid.
