Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is keen to sign Gareth Bale but won’t pay Real Madrid more than £53million for the transfer, according to latest reports.
Bale’s future at the Bernabeu looks in some doubt after some unconvincing recent form and a poor record with injuries, and Don Balon claim Real are looking to offload him for around £88m.
The same report, however, suggests United won’t go above £53m for the Wales international, and it remains to be seen if any kind of compromise can be agreed between the two clubs.
Another report from Don Balon today suggests Chelsea could be in a decent position to sign Bale if they are interested in doing so, with Real also willing to offer him in a swap deal for Eden Hazard.

It seems clear Madrid want to reshuffle their attack after a disappointing start to this season that already sees them look rank outsiders in the title race in Spain.
In fairness to Bale, the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema have not done a great deal to impress in his absence, but reports suggest Los Blancos are keen to axe him as part of their rebuilding plans.
