Pep Guardiola plots summer raid of PL rivals, Man City to offer €4.5m+-a-year deal

Major question marks remain over Emre Can’s future at Liverpool, and Man City boss Pep Guardiola is reportedly set to swoop at the end of the season.

The 23-year-old will see his current deal with the Reds expire next summer, and as of yet there has been no indication that he is set to imminently sign a renewal.

In turn, that has created doubt and speculation over his future at Anfield, and Calciomercato report that City are preparing to make a bid to snap him up on a free in seven months time.

There’s no denying that the German international has come a long way under Jurgen Klopp over the past three years, and given his age, he still has plenty of room for improvement and development.

As a result, Liverpool will be disappointed if they lose him ahead of next season, and it looks increasingly likely as the competition steps up for his signature.

Can will be allowed to discuss terms with other clubs from February onwards with a view of reaching an agreement for when his Liverpool contract ends, and so the Merseyside giants are surely running out of time to get a deal done to avoid further complications next year.

It’s added by Calciomercato that City will offer more than Juventus in terms of a wage packet which suggests Guardiola is pretty keen on the midfielder, with Can reportedly set to be offered over €4.5m-a-season to join the Citizens.

It remains to be seen if Juve can compete with City on a financial level and raise their own bid, but Guardiola’s interest in the German ace has certainly complicated their pursuit and so time will tell where Can will be plying his trade next season.
