Arsenal injury news: Major blow for Wenger, key man skips training

Arsenal could reportedly be without defender Sead Kolasinac for their showdown with Manchester City on Sunday due to injury.

The 24-year-old has been a big hit for the Gunners since his arrival on a free transfer from Schalke this past summer, offering defensive solidity on the left flank as well as three goals and three assists in 11 appearances in all competitions.

In turn, he would have been a crucial part of Arsene Wenger’s plans for such a big game, but according to freelance injury analyst Ben Dinnery, as seen in the tweet below, he may miss out having skipped training on Saturday.

It’s unclear as to what the issue is for now, but ultimately Arsenal fans will be hoping that it was a decision made as a precaution rather than a costly setback that rules him out of the game.

On a positive note, with the international break to follow, if it is another injury setback then Kolasinac will at least have time on his side to recover after this weekend to return to action against Tottenham on November 18.

However, with Arsenal sitting in fifth place in the Premier League table, nine points adrift of City, it won’t be too much of a consolation that he misses out here as the Gunners will undoubtedly have their hands full defensively against Pep Guardiola’s side, who have scored a staggering 35 goals in 10 league games so far this season.
