(Video) Pep Guardiola receives highest praise from BBC pundit after Man City run riot

Man City were in sensational form on Saturday, blitzing Stoke City to secure an impressive 7-2 win over their rivals at the Etihad.

In turn, Pep Guardiola’s side are now two points clear at the top of the Premier League table, scoring 29 goals in their first eight games to secure the best offensive record so far.

The Spanish tactician received worldwide acclaim for the job that he did at Barcelona between 2008 and 2012, winning three La Liga titles and two Champions League trophies amongst others while playing some of the most aesthetically pleasing football ever seen.

Some would have doubted his ability to replicate anything close to that elsewhere as he also enjoyed a successful spell in Germany with Bayern Munich, but he’s really turning the style on in Manchester along with his players.

BBC pundit Danny Murphy has given him arguably the highest praise that he can receive at this point, as he believes that City are starting to look like Barcelona as their superior quality is sweeping sides away.

While that is undoubtedly great to hear if you’re Guardiola, it won’t mean much if he ends the campaign empty-handed as there is a long way to go.

From a neutral point of view, Tuesday’s encounter with Napoli in the Champions League should be special as the Serie A giants have also been in exceptional form this season.
