After suffering a broken rib after his taxi crashed in Amsterdam last month, Sergio Aguero returned to the Manchester City first team as they sensationally beat Stoke 7-2 in the Premier League on Sunday.

The Guardian reported the striker was travelling back from a concert in Holland after City’s Champions League tie with Feyenoord when the vehicle he was travelling into crashed into a lamppost at 11 pm local time and just 48 hours before the club’s 1-0 win away at Chelsea.

The Independent claimed that the Argentina international would be out for up to six weeks, so his return comes as a major surprise.

The news of his crash came as a major blow to Pep Guardiola and co., especially after netting 32 times across all competitions for the two-time Premier League winners last campaign.

The former Barcelona coach opted not to bring on Aguero.

Following mauling of Stoke, City top the table after winning their seventh game of the season, still remaining unbeaten after eight games.
