Former Man Utd striker Ruud van Nistelrooy was back at Old Trafford this weekend for a legends game, and he couldn’t have been more thrilled.

The 41-year-old scored from the penalty spot as he got that familiar feeling back of scoring in front of the United faithful, this time against Barcelona legends.

Van Nistelrooy scored 150 goals in 219 games for the Red Devils between 2001 and 2006, winning a Premier League title, an FA Cup and a League Cup during his time in England.

His goalscoring exploits made him a huge hit with supporters, and he thanked them on Saturday as his famous ‘Ruuuuud’ chants rang around Old Trafford as he revealed that his children are now shouting it at him all the time.

Man Utd supporters will have been equally as delighted to see him back, and they’ll be hoping current main man Romelu Lukaku can follow in his footsteps and fire them to success.
