Mamadou Sakho loan to go through on transfer deadline day, Liverpool man must improve 2nd-leakiest Prem defence

Liverpool defender Mamadou Sakho will reportedly leave Liverpool on loan tomorrow.

According to Empire of the Kop, the Frenchman will move to Sunderland, whose backline is in need of reinforcements.

Sunderland conceded 62 league goals during the 2015-16 campaign. Of this season’s 20 Premier League teams, just Bournemouth were leakier at the back last term.

And the Black Cats have already shipped five goals in three games this term. Only Liverpool, Watford and Stoke have let in more.

Empire claim that Sakho may have a future with Liverpool, but that he has no chance of playing for the Reds under Jurgen Klopp this season.

Sakho’s last appearance for the Anfield outfit came in April’s 4-0 win over Everton in a one-side Merseyside derby.
