Man United ready to sell £81m pair as Louis van Gaal looks to continue summer spending

Man United are ready to sell two of their star performers as Louis van Gaal seeks to balance the books ahead of further summer spending.

The Old Trafford boss is keen to see keeper David De Gea sold this summer (via the Daily Mail) to prevent the possibility of the Spaniard leaving on a free transfer when his contract with the club expires next summer.

Man United want £35m for the former Atletico Madrid man and Real Madrid have already allowed Iker Casillas to leave the Bernabeu for FC Porto this summer.

Meanwhile Man United are set to bank £46m from the sale of Angel di Maria to PSG (via BBC Sport) and whilst that sum is some way below the £59.7m paid for the Argentine it’s clear the former Real Madrid winger’s value will have fallen after his poor debut season at the Premier League side.
