Reds linked with shock move for England goalkeeper.

Liverpool would be interested in a move for goalkeeper Joe Hart should he become available, report the Mail, with the England stopper seemingly becoming concenred about his future at Manchester City after the Premier League champions failed to offer him a new deal despite having negotaited with a host of stars including Samir Nasri, Vincent Kompany and Edin Dzeko already this summer.

City’s lack of movement on the Hart front is a surprise, considering that he has just over two years left on his current deal and is still a young, competent top class goalkeeper, with the Mail now suggesting that other Premier League clubs, particularly Liverpool, could be ready to pounce if City let the former Shrewsbury man slip through their grasp.

Hart has been a key player for City in both of their recent Premier League triumphs, establishing himself firmly as England’s first choice between the sticks in the process, having come a long way from the teenager that City plucked from League Two outfit Shrewsbury Town for less than £1 million.

Liverpool are sure to jump at any opportunity to sign a goalkeeper as classy as Hart, with Belgian stopper Simon Mignolet having flattered to deceive since his signing from Sunderland to replace the long-serving Pepe Reina just over 12 months ago.
