Paris Saint-Germain look set to beat Manchester United to the signing of Real Madrid winger Angel Di Maria whilst also dodging the issue of Financial Fair Play restrictions, according to the Daily Mail.

The Argentine star has been a top target for both clubs after seemingly being made available by Real this summer, and now looks set to complete a season-long loan move to the Parc des Princes, with the club then signing him permanently for a fee of around £49m next summer.

PSG are under pressure to sell before they can buy this summer, having already been penalised by Uefa in the past for not adhering to their Financial Fair Play regulations, and it had looked as though this could halt the 26-year-old’s move to Ligue 1.

Still, the two clubs have worked a way around the problem, and PSG will hope to be able to sign the player permanently next season as they have been unable to offload some of their squad players in time this year to afford his transfer fee.

This will come as some blow for United, though they may still be in with a chance of signing one of PSG’s unwanted players in Edinson Cavani, who wants to leave and whose sale would generate over £50m for the French champions.
