Tottenham Hotspur team news is out for this Saturday’s Premier League match against Everton at Goodison Park, and despite a week off for Spurs’ injured players, it’s more of the same. The club announced via its website that four players are out of contention for selection.

The biggest news is that defensive midfielder Victor Wanyama is set for an extended spell on the sidelines. The club stated that Vic is “likely to be out for a few weeks after sustaining injury in training prior to Burnley fixture.”

Oh. So I guess this joke tweet is accurate, then. Wonderful.

Elsewhere, Georges-Kevin N’Koudou, Erik Lamela, and Danny Rose are all still recuperating from injuries and will not feature either.

The big question now is whether or not new signing Serge Aurier will crack the starting lineup for the first time ahead of Kieran Trippier. It’s also quite possible we will see Fernando Llorente make the bench for Spurs.

For Everton, Seamus Coleman, Yannick Bolasie, Ramiro Funes Mori and (of course) Ross Barkley are all on the long-term injury list and won’t be seen on the Goodison Park pitch for a while. Davy Klaassen and James McCarthy both missed international matches with knocks in the past week and are listed as “doubtful.” Morgan Schneiderlin will be in line to feature for Everton as he returns from a one-match suspension after picking up two yellow cards against Manchester City on August 21.
