This Kieran Trippier highlight is basically a Stefon club meme

Kieran Trippier had quite a game for Tottenham Hotspur last night, didn’t he? Trippier was probably one of Spurs’ best three performers overall, dominating the right flank in Spurs’ 3-1 win over Real Madrid in the Champions League.

And if you’re looking for clips, there probably isn’t a better moment to highlight than this moment right here from the first half, where Trippier actually dribbles past Marcelo and Isco to set up a big chance (which Moussa Sissoko promptly wastes).

Yes, that’s Kieran Trippier. Dribbling past people.

There’s a lot going on here, isn’t there? In fact, this clip is quite possibly the Saturday Night Live “Stefon meme” of football highlight videos.

If you’re looking for a place that make even the most congenial of Spaniards melt into a pool of pity and self-loathing, look no further.

North London’s HOTTEST CLUB is “TRIPS.”

Opened in 2017 by a consortium of Hobbits playing out of position at left back, “Trips” is located in an abandoned building filled with humiliated Brazilian defenders.

This club has EVERYTHING. Dribbles. Double step-overs. Marcelo re-evaluating his life choices. Isco running in and attempting... something.

And at the end? A Moussa Sissoko whiffed shot.

Walk inside and get hit in the head with a whipped cross from the right. And if you listen closely? You can hear the wails of the masthead as they slowly transform into corncobs.

Look, in all seriousness, this was probably the best match Trippier has played in a Tottenham Hotspur shirt against an opponent that isn’t Watford. The fact that he did it against the two-time reigning European champions makes it that much more satisfying. He completely blew all of us away on Wednesday. That’s a performance that should be held up, acknowledged, and celebrated.

Preferably while holding a giant cocktail in a foam-filled warehouse with dub-step blaring.
