The season continues on Monday for Manchester City when they welcome Everton for the first match at the Etihad Stadium this season. The Blues beat Brighton away from home last Saturday, the same day that Everton beat Stoke City at Goodison Park.

Blues and Toffees now meet in City's home in what could be the best game of the second weekend of Premier League action. It'll be hard to top what Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea did at Wembley on Sunday, but City and Everton certainly have the teams and the coaches to give us a good show.

For Pep Guardiola and his men, this game is about revenge. Pep suffered his worst loss as manager at Goodison last January, with Everton winning 4-0 in a match filled with bad defensive mistakes and poor coaching. City have improved a lot since that day and good signings have been made, and against Everton we'll get a very good sense of how strong this City team is.

Ronald Koeman is a great tactician and will put together a good plan to stop the Blues, but City have the talent and the backing of their supporters to get a win under the Monday night lights. This will be a great game, and you should not miss it.

The squad is looking very healthy at the moment, with only Benjamin Mendy and Fabian Delph ruled out because of injuries, although the two are actually very close to being fit to play. Ilkay Gundogan made his return to football in the friendly against Girona and is in contention to be on the bench against Everton.

Pep will likely stick with the same lineup that faced Brighton, with the only possible change being Leroy Sané in place of Danilo at right wing-back. Raheem Sterling could also replace either Sergio Agüero or Gabriel Jesus up front, though that's very unlikely.
