Bring on the kids!

Manchester City kick off their EFL Cup title defense on Wednesday night in South Wales, as the Citizens face Swansea City at Liberty Stadium looking to win a ninth game in a row and continue the perfect start to the season.

While this is an important match, it's not as important as the others, so Pep Guardiola might make big changes to his starting lineup. Here's the potential starters for Wednesday:

4-1-4-1

Willy Caballero

Pablo Maffeo - Tosin Adarabioyo - Vincent Kompany - Angeliño Tasende

Fernando Reges

Jesus Navas - Aleix García - Fabian Delph - Leroy Sané

Kelechi Iheanacho

Guardiola wants to win every game, but with a Champions League match and a visit to White Hart Lane next week, he won't risk the fitness of his most important players in a League Cup match. He already said this game gives him the opportunity to test the squad members with less minutes played, as well as the Academy youngsters who have trained with the first team lately.

Delph, Navas and Caballero won't play much this season, so they'll definitely be involved here. When it comes to the kids, Sané, García, Adarabioyo, Maffeo, Iheanacho and Angelino are the most likely to be in action against the Swans, and all of them have a huge chance to show their talents and impress the manager.

But the big news is obviously the return of Vincent Kompany. The captain is in contention to make his debut, and by Pep's conference, it does sound like he might even start at Liberty Stadium. If that happens, hopefully Kompany won't get injured and will get a good 70 minutes of action before one of Clichy, Kolarov, Stones or Otamendi replaces him in the final moments of the game, regardless of the result.

This was my best guess for Guardiola's selection on Wednesday. Now over to you: what is your prediction for the starting lineup?
