Manchester City finally ended their poor run of form with a triumphant 4-0 win over West Bromwich Albion. The Sky Blues dominated the entirety of the first half, scoring twice through the rejuvenated Sergio Agüero. After a long, confidence-draining goal drought, City fans were relieved to see their star man hit the back of the net again. The Argentinian’s first was created by a fantastic ball from Ilkay Gundogan. Sergio slotted it into the far post, giving his side the lead. Aguero’s second was an absolute stunner. Sloppy play in the defense was the home side’s worst enemy here, as former Man United midfielder Darren Fletcher gave the ball away to Kun. He quickly smashed the ball into the top right corner, doubling City’s lead.

After a perfect first half, fans around the ground expected Guardiola’s men to walk the second. This was not the case. West Brom picked up some momentum, giving City trouble at the back. The wingers were getting several balls into the box, all of which were unsuccessful. Although this struck worry into the hearts of the away fans, their concerns were quickly wiped away as Agüero assisted Ilkay Gundogan’s first goal of the game. A simple pass into the goal gave City an unassailable lead.

Nobody thought it could get any better for the away side, but they were disproven as an attractive ball from super-sub Kevin De Bruyne was hit home by Gundogan to double his goal tally. Finishing with two goals and an assist, this was undoubtedly the German’s best performance in a Sky Blue shirt.

Supporters of other Premier League clubs will be worried as Manchester City seem to be back to their best after a simply perfect display. City will hope to keep this kind of form when they host Barcelona at the Etihad in Tuesday’s Champions League clash.
