West Bromwich Albion 0-4 Manchester City, 2016 Premier League: Instant Recap, Postgame Reaction

Manchester City are finally back to the winning ways after six straight matches without a victory thanks to a 4-0 win over West Bromwich Albion at The Hawthorns on Saturday, with a totally dominant display of Pep Guardiola football.

The first half was dominated by the Citizens, who were overwhelmingly better from start to finish, having close to 80% of possession for the entire period, and with the same formation used during the 10-game winning streak, City were comfortable with the ball and created lots of great chances despite facing a parked bus from Tony Pulis.

Sergio Agüero was active and looking to get involved, and he was sensational. Gundogan bossed midfield and gave a great assist to Kun, who scored a classic Kun goal to put City ahead. Five minutes later, he pulled off a stunning strike to double the visitors' lead, who were the better team at halftime and were very close to a win.

The second half brought a more attacking West Brom side, who were looking for an early goal to try and bring some life into the game. They had a few half-chances, but nothing that worried Claudio Bravo too much. City lost a little bit of control in the opening minutes, but after a few minutes the visitors got the ball back and remained the dominant team in the game.

City needed a third goal to end the match, and Agüero once again was involved, giving a great pass to Gundogan who scored the goal to ice the game. Gundogan scored again after a great cross from Kevin De Bruyne to turn the win into a blowout.

In the end, a fantastic performance from City, a much needed win and the top spot in the Premier League table. Up next, Barcelona.

• Agüero is back, and his two goals were exactly like you'd expect from Agüero. Best striker in England.
• The first half featured some of the best football City have played so far this season. West Brom's parked bus wasn't a problem. The passing was great, it led to great chances and two great goals. Pep is certainly ecstatic with those 45 minutes.
• Fernando played at right-back, and that was actually a great idea. He looked very comfortable, and maybe he starts against Barcelona if Pep used his game to test the formation and game plan. Fernaod was excellent. Excellent.
• Ilkay Gundogan wasn't excellent. He was fantastic. Once again he bossed midfield, controlled the tempo of the game, gave a beautiful assist to Agüero's first goal, and scored two for himself. What a performance.
• Fernandinho looked like the Dinho from the season's start, helping Gundogan control possession and provide solidity to the City defense. Great game from the Brazilian.
• Thanks to a four-goal win and a clean sheet, City will be top of the table again thanks to goal difference. Perfect afternoon.
