Wojciech Szczesny kept 14 clean sheets in 38 Serie A games for Roma last season

Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny has completed a £10m move to Juventus.

The 27-year-old, who spent the past two years on loan at Roma, signed a four-year deal with the Italian champions.

The Poland international played 38 times for Roma last season and kept 14 clean sheets - the most in Serie A.

"When you come to Juve, it's because you've been chosen. I had no hesitation," said Szczesny, who made 132 appearances for Arsenal in eight years at the club.

"I'm ready for a new challenge - Juventus is the best choice for the next stage of my career."

Szczesny said he had already spoken to Juve number one Gianluigi Buffon, who he described as "a legend in our game".

"I'm really happy to be here," he added. "I'm not feeling any pressure. I'm here to represent the club at the highest level."

    He's a good keeper but I doubt he can replace someone like Buffon.

    Also, BBC, please can you make a separate section for women's football? Not to be rude or anything, but most people really don't care for it.

    £10 mill is £10 mill. We've done something that Man City couldn't do .....sold a goalkeeper .

    Buffon is not getting any younger, Szczesny will be the number 1 choice pretty quickly

    Szczesny had the potential to become one of the best keepers in the world when he was established as first choice No.1 at Arsenal at such a young age, but instead of continuing to develop, for whatever reason he became a liability who you had no confidence in when a cross came in.

    Shame, always liked him and he was a character that liked the Arsenal, thought he might've cone back esp with the rumours of Ospina leaving. I'm sure he'll do well and learn off the master.

    I don't think he's good enough for Juve to be honest. Then again, not may keepers are good enough to step in for Buffon when he retires.

    Effectively learnt his trade whilst on loan at Brentford where he was easily the best in the Football League (all divisions). Premiership football is different especially where a keeper is concerned. If he'd had a season on loan in the Championship before being thrown in at the deep end then he'd be Arsenal's no1 now - plus don't forget his father having a pop at Wenger which wouldn't have helped

    So far in this window Arsenal have managed to sell Gnabri to Bayern Munich and Sczezny to Juventus.

    This has to be so that Sanchez contract offer can be improved, because both players are clearly very talented to go to those clubs! The fact that they went out on loan away from Arsenal suggests they simply wanted to leave and I don't blame them. But will they get the game time? difficult to say

    He was never good enough for Arsenal, and that's a fact. Would play 89 minutes well,and then make a howler, he had to go as he didn't inspire confidence. Fair play to him though, he took his chance at Roma, and now has earnt this move. Those criticising Cech, I can't take you seriously.     Gunnerstorm, Sanchez is off my friend, he will play Champions League next season, we can offer Europa League that's why we are struggling to get decent players to come to Arsenal, Lacazette was not in demand with other teams,he will not save us

    Strange. Much better than a 35 year old Cech. Now he'll be benched by a 39 year old. Still to this day don't understand why Arsenal got rid of him for a totally over the hill Cech
