Ben Sheaf made his senior debut for Arsenal as a late substitute in tonight’s 1-0 Europa League victory away to Red Star Belgrade.

Marcus McGuane, who was making his second first-team appearance, was also brought on in the closing stages for the Gunners, who prevailed courtesy of a well-taken effort from Olivier Giroud.

Reiss Nelson and Ainsley Maitland-Niles again started in the wing-back positions, with the latter making use of his pace to track back defensively, while the former showed some glimpses of his ability.

Joe Willock started in midfield but was taken off towards the end with cramp. Matt Macey, Jordi Osei-Tutu (who earned his first senior call-up), Eddie Nketiah, Chuba Akpom and Josh Dasilva were unused substitutes.

  1. Really enjoying seeing so many of the clubs youngsters getting some game time, already looking forward to Norwich next week and the return with Red Star and the chance to see them performing again.

Jeorge, any news on McGuanes contract situation?
